Our Seguin veterinarian staff is trained to care for small animals and household pets as well as large animals and livestock. Dr. Montgomery was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was introduced to veterinary medicine at a young age through his grandfather, who was a veterinarian in Corpus Christi for 43 years. Dr. Montgomery started working at Windsor Park Animal Hospital in Corpus Christi during high school, which solidified his passion for working with animals and their humans, and he set his goal on attending veterinary school. He moved to College Station to pursue a degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets while at Texas A&M and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2006. Dr. Montgomery obtained his DVM at Texas A&M, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2010.
Dr. Montgomery began his career in a mixed-animal practice in Edna, Texas, from 2010-2012. He moved to Luling, Texas, in 2012 where he continued his passion for working in a mixed-animal practice in the Luling, Lockhart, Seguin and New Braunfels area. In 2020, he opened his own practice in Seguin, Texas.
Seguin veterinarian Dr. Montgomery enjoys a variety of large and small animal medicine and surgery. He strives to always have open and honest conversations about treatment options and expectations, financial commitments, and economic decisions for large animal producers.
Dr. Montgomery lives outside of Lockhart, Texas, with his wife and three daughters. Away from work, he enjoys spending time outdoors and working with his own horses and cows.
Dr. Alsop grew up in a farming and ranching family in the rural community of Riviera, TX. Her grandfather played a large part in her life and introduced her to veterinary medicine and ranching. He practiced mixed-animal veterinary medicine for 55 years in South Texas and would often include his grandchildren for farm calls. Dr. Alsop began working in a veterinary clinic while in high school at Hubert Veterinary Hospital and completed a work-study program there throughout her senior year.
Dr. Alsop pursued her higher education at Texas A&M University, where she had the opportunity to complete an internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute for a breeding season in Kentucky and was a student worker at A&M’s Large Animal Teaching Hospital. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with a certificate in Equine Science from Texas A&M University. After completing her undergraduate studies, she obtained her DVM also from Texas A&M University.
Dr. Alsop has a passion for large, small and exotic animal medicine. She strives to establish a lasting connection with her patients and their owners as well as providing the best, affordable care possible.
Dr. Alsop lives outside of Seguin with her two dogs, Luke and Lacie. She enjoys the outdoors, running, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Lehmann was raised in New Braunfels, TX. She loved animals from a young age, but it wasn’t until starting Animal Science coursework at Texas A&M that she decided to pursue veterinary school. Following her undergraduate freshman year, she began working as a veterinary technician during each summer. At Texas A&M, she assisted Dr. Noah Cohen with his research on vaccine development against Rhodococcus equi pneumonia in foals. Outside of veterinary-related activities, Dr. Lehmann enjoyed holding leadership positions in several organizations, including Aggie Sisters in Healthcare and Fish Camp.
Dr. Lehmann was accepted to Texas A&M’s College of Veterinary Medicine with adequate prerequisites prior to completion of her undergraduate studies. During vet school, she enjoyed being the Health and Wellness Representative on the class officer team for all four years and Fundraising Chair/President of the school chapter of Heifer International for two years. During the midst of vet school, Dr. Lehmann got married to her high school sweetheart. Dr. Lehmann acquired her DVM from Texas A&M University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2024.
Dr. Lehmann has a passion for small and large animal medicine and surgery. Her ultimate goal is to serve her community and provide exceptional care to her patients, while also forming lasting relationships with owners.
Dr. Lehmann lives in New Braunfels, TX with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. Outside of work, she enjoys fitness, gardening, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Janke grew up in a military family who settled in Rockwall, TX for the majority of her childhood. She got her first Labrador Retriever in second grade after a year of reading every dog book she could get her hands on and asking her parents daily to get her own dog. After starting college at Texas A&M University, Dr. Janke became heavily involved in the Animal Science Department and decided to pursue veterinary medicine. Throughout undergrad, Dr. Janke worked at a hunter jumper horse barn, the Texas A&M Poultry Science Center and a local veterinary hospital. In addition to work, Dr. Janke trained a seizure alert dog during college where she found a better understanding of training and a love for animal behavior. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a Business Minor, Dr. Janke decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science during which she continued to work at a local veterinary hospital and picked up running half marathons as a hobby.
Dr. Janke completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Texas A&M University, focusing on both small and large animal clinical rotations. She was an active member in the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, the student chapter of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and Christian Veterinary Fellowship. She spent her summers on externships in rural areas of Texas predominantly in mixed animal or equine veterinary practices.
Dr. Janke joined Southern Winds Veterinary Services in 2025. She enjoys building relationships with owners and producers to work as a team and provide the best quality care for her patients. She has a passion for small animal, equine, production animal and pocket pet exotic medicine.
Dr. Janke lives in Schertz, TX with her husband and her dog, Granger. In her free time, she enjoys gathering with family and friends, exploring Texas towns, running marathons and trying new Southern Living recipes.
Dr. Charlotte Dawson grew up near the USAF bases and Cambridge University in England, where her passion for veterinary medicine began early through volunteer work at local clinics. She pursued her dream at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in London, earning a degree in Bio-Veterinary Science in 2009 and later returning to complete her veterinary degree. In 2017, she was inducted into the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
During her training, Dr. Dawson gained hands-on experience at the London Zoo and on working farms across Europe, sparking a deep interest in large animal care. She began her career as a mixed practice relief veterinary surgeon across England before relocating to Texas in 2019, following her husband’s retirement from the Air Force.
Over the past six years in New Braunfels, Dr. Dawson has worked in mixed animal practice, refining her skills in both medicine and surgery. She developed a strong focus on large animal medicine, working closely with ranchers across Central Texas to support herd health and preventative care. Additionally, she became USDA accredited to assist with surveillance health. She also earned a Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture, expanding her approach to integrative care. Now at Southern Winds, she’s excited to continue serving both large and small animal patients with compassion and expertise.
Outside of work, Dr. Dawson enjoys weightlifting, hiking, board games, and exploring new cuisines. She and her husband, Chris, share their home with a lively crew of pets—Reeka the rescue pointer/hound, Sami the chihuahua, and four sphynx cats: Madame, Baron, Tzarina, and Queenie. Charlotte is thrilled to be part of the Southern Winds family and looks forward to building lasting connections in the community
