Fair Pricing and Open Communication
We offer a variety of prevention and treatment options for animals large and small. Our most common Seguin veterinary service patients include dogs, cats, cattle and equine. We also have the ability to treat pigs, sheep and goats with most of our large-animal treatment options. Our veterinarian and office staff focuses on kind, compassionate care while maintaining open communication and fair pricing every time.
In some instances, we may not be able to treat your animal. This could be due to an after-hours emergency, or it may be something surgical that requires a specialist to provide treatment. In cases of off-hour emergencies, we have contingencies in place so you can visit a trusted veterinary hospital. If your animal needs a specialist, we offer referrals to veterinarians we trust.
We also treat pigs, sheep, and goats. Please call with any specific questions.
We provide exams, vaccines, deworming, heart worm and parasite preventatives for small animals. We also offer microchipping, nutritional consultations, dental consultations and recommendations for surgery. For larger animals, we offer routine care, herd consultations and ranch calls if necessary.
When it comes to diagnostic testing, we take an approach that avoids unnecessary labs and fees. In addition to routine Seguin veterinary service screenings for large and small animals, we offer pregnancy determination, trich testing, fertility testing, coggins testing and recommendations for farrier work. Many of our diagnostic tests, including lab work and ultrasounds, are done in-office.
In the event that we can’t treat your animal, due to an after-hours emergency or the need for a specialist, we offer referrals to veterinarians we trust.
Choosing to provide end of life care for your pet is never an easy choice. Our staff will take time to help you process the decision and offer you options for this Seguin veterinary service. We make every effort to ensure our office is a calm and peaceful environment throughout the entire process. We send remains out for cremation. In some special circumstances, we offer in-home euthanasia.
Our trained veterinary staff provides general surgery including spay, neuter, tumor removal, c-sections and laceration repairs. For large animals, we provide c-sections, calf pulls, prolapse repair, lameness treatment, artificial insemination and castrations, among other services.
Medical assessments in the office help us ensure a proper diagnosis for your animal. We’ll look at your pet’s ears, skin, eyes, and check out his or her neurological, cardiovascular, skeletal and gastrointestinal symptoms. When necessary, Southern Winds Veterinary Services will perform urine and/or blood tests to check your pet’s kidneys, pancreas, liver and endocrine system.
If you are concerned about the health of your pet, call us to schedule an assessment.
